Stand Against Racism – Friday, April 30th

The YWCA is sponsoring an Anti-Racism event on Friday April 30th. All are welcome to attend! The intent is to help people who are committed to eliminating racism network and learn about what each other is doing. This event is intended to be a kick-off event with the hope that organizations will continue to educate and work for change throughout the year.

9:00 – 10:00 AM Tim Wise will speak at the YWCA (One Salem Sq. Worcester, next to the public Library, off of Main St.)

11:00-2:00 PM Rev. Wendy von Zirpolo (First Church, Marblehead) will speak at YOU Inc- Kathleen Burn Preparatory School (280 May St., across from Worcester State – located in Temple Emanuel). Participants at this event will also have the opportunity to discuss racism, its effects and how to work for change. All will be invited to take a pledge to end racism and sign the YOU Inc banner. 4:00 – 6:00 PM All are invited to meet at Worcester City Hall (Main St.) for closing ceremonies and a variety of other fun, inspiring events!
